While two weeks in Key West, FL, sounds glamorous, especially as the weather is getting cooler in Virginia, we who guessed this would be wrong. Two week: 14 days, flying 12 of them, getting up at 5am 10 of them, having two flights per day most days, getting sunburned on your one day of "vacation." (Not to mention the fact it was Fantasy-Fest 2008, so men and women were strolling about town in
just body paint. Yikes...) Dave's class was worked so doggedly they all came home and got sick. Cam had to cancel a flight on Thursday, which Dave was able to pick up. Dave's been feeling under-the-weather and has been downing Airborne like it's his job. Note to selves: Take 1000mg of Vitamin C while on Detachments. Here are some photos from his one vacation day.

Dave at Ernest Hemmingway's typewriter. This room is usually closed off, but Will and Dave impressed the curator with their jet abilities and they were permitted to take a photo :)

A ferrel Hemmingway cat befriending Dave (who's a sap for cats, anyway).

Hemmingway's cat's watering trough -- which in a previous life served as a urinal in a local bar. Yum.

Hemmingway's cats have 6 toes! Hemmingway's original cat had 6 toes per paw. Therefore most of the descendants have 6 toes as well.
